FUE

In one sentence

Follicular Unit Excision harvests hair grafts one by one through sub-millimetre punches, leaving scattered dot scars instead of a linear strip.

Follicular Unit Excision harvests hair grafts one by one through sub-millimetre punches, leaving scattered dot scars instead of a linear strip.

Why it matters

FUE made short haircuts possible after transplantation and is now the dominant technique worldwide. Quality depends on punch size, extraction pattern and how gently grafts are handled — differences invisible on a price list.

What to ask

Who performs the extractions — the surgeon or technicians? What punch diameter is used? How is the donor area protected from overharvesting?
